Employees and families

Knowing where you stand, in plain figures.

A pension you have never really looked at, an old scheme from a job you left, and no clear idea whether any of it adds up. Very common, and quickly sorted.

  • Mortgages: buying, moving or switching to a better rate
  • Pensions, including ones you have lost track of
  • Retirement options, ARF or annuity
  • Life cover, income protection and specified illness
For individuals →

Business owners and directors

Getting money out of the company, and keeping it.

A profitable company, no pension, and everything riding on one asset. Also very common, and more expensive to leave alone.

  • Funding a pension through the company
  • Your auto-enrolment duties as an employer
  • Keyperson and co-director cover
  • Planning for selling or handing on the business
For business owners →

Testimonials

Most of our work comes
by word of mouth.

We had three old pensions from three different jobs and no idea what was in any of them. They tracked them all down, put them in one place and showed us the figures on a single page. For the first time we know what we are working with.
Siobhán and Declan O’Shea Homeowners, Killarney
I run a small engineering firm and had never paid into a company pension. We sat down for an hour, and by the end of the month it was set up and running through payroll. I wish I had done it ten years earlier.
Pádraig Moriarty Director, Moriarty Fabrication, Tralee
Buying our first home felt impossible until we met them. They told us exactly what the banks would lend, which one to go with and why. We had approval in principle within three weeks.
Aoife Brennan First-time buyer, Killorglin
After my husband died I did not know where to start. They were patient, they explained everything twice when I needed it, and they dealt with the insurers for me. I never felt rushed.
Mary Clifford Retired teacher, Cahersiveen
I was paying far too much for life cover I took out years ago. They reviewed it, found a better policy for the same cover, and the saving pays for itself every month.
John Sheehan Farmer, Castleisland
We wanted to pass the farm on without leaving our children with a large tax bill. They worked with our solicitor and accountant, and the plan is in place. It took a weight off us.
Tom and Nora Fitzgerald Farming family, Milltown
Clear, straight advice with no pressure. They told me what it would cost before we started and that is exactly what I paid. I have recommended them to three friends since.
Ciarán Walsh Self-employed electrician, Killorglin
Retirement was two years away and I had no plan for the lump sum. They walked me through the options, the tax on each one and what my income would look like. I retired knowing where I stood.
Eileen Kelliher Former civil servant, Listowel
They set up keyperson cover for our business in a week. When our accountant asked about it at year end, everything was already in order and on paper.
Gráinne Lynch Managing director, Lynch Hospitality, Killarney
I rang with a question on a Friday afternoon and had a proper answer back before five. That is how it has been every time since. Same person, every time.
Michael Foley Client since 2019, Glenbeigh

Thanks. We will send that over shortly, and one of our advisers will follow up if you would like.

Illustrative only and not personal advice. Growth is assumed steady, which real markets are not. Income from the fund assumes a 4% drawdown. The State Pension (Contributory) is shown at the maximum 2026 rate of €299.30 a week from age 66, which needs about 40 years of PRSI contributions. Full guide to this calculator.

How we work

Nobody signs anything at the first meeting.

You will know how we are paid before you decide anything, in writing.

01

We find out where you stand

Half an hour, no charge. What you have, what your situation looks like, and what you want the next fifteen years to be. Mostly us listening.

02

You get it in writing

A written summary of your position and our recommendations, with the reasoning, the charges and the alternatives we considered. Yours to keep whether you go ahead or not.

03

We review it, properly

Circumstances change, and so do the rules and the markets. We sit down again at least once a year and tell you plainly if nothing needs doing.

2
My Future Fund

Auto-enrolment landed this year, and it cuts both ways.

Employees aged 23 to 60 earning over €20,000 who were not already in a scheme have been enrolled automatically. Depending on where you sit, that is either a new pension you did not ask for or a new cost on the payroll.

If you were enrolled

It is a start, not a plan. Contributions begin at 1.5% from you and 1.5% from your employer and step up over ten years, which for most people will not be enough on its own. A personal pension also gets higher-rate tax relief, which My Future Fund does not. And if you are self-employed you were left out of the scheme altogether.

If you employ people

The employer contribution comes out of the business and rises on a fixed schedule, so what it costs this year is not what it costs in year six. A proper company scheme can cost a similar amount, give staff a reason to stay, and cover the directors, which auto-enrolment does not.

Pay and file deadline

{{ deadlineDate }} is the date that decides last year's tax bill.

If you are self-assessed, that is the ROS deadline for filing your return and paying what you owe for last year. It is also the last day a pension contribution can be backdated against that year's income.

Pay the contribution and elect to have it treated as paid in the earlier year, both before the deadline, and the relief comes off last year's bill rather than this year's. Miss it and the option is gone for good.

{{ deadlineDays }}

left to pay, elect and file. Revenue's deadline is fixed, and providers need time to process a contribution.

Talk to us before then ↓ What relief is it worth? →

Who it applies to

Anyone self-assessed: the self-employed, company directors, and people with rental, investment or foreign income alongside a salary.

What has to happen

The contribution has to be paid and the election made through ROS before the deadline, and the return filed. All three, not just the payment.

What it is worth

Relief at your marginal rate, within age-related percentage limits and the earnings cap. We will work out the figure that suits your position.

General information based on our understanding of current Revenue practice, not personal advice. Limits and treatment depend on your circumstances and may change. Your accountant files the return; we deal with the pension side.

  • Listen whenever it suits. Under twenty minutes, at your desk, in the car or at home. No sign-up.

Most asked About a minute

Find the pension from a job you left.

Nearly everyone who has changed employer has one sitting somewhere, and most people have no idea what it is worth or what it is invested in. It is still your money.

You do not need to dig out paperwork first. Tell us roughly where you worked and when, and we will go looking: the former employer, the scheme trustees, and the Pensions Authority's register of schemes.

No charge for the search and no obligation afterwards. If we find it, we will tell you what it is worth and what your options are. We will only use these details to trace your pension and come back to you about it.

Thanks, that is enough to go on.

One of our advisers will start the search and come back to you, usually within a few working days. If we need anything else we will ask then.
